What it will do
- Marked on the deck from a phone, in the thirty seconds a coach has
- Per session, off the lane sheet
- Enough history to answer "who has been in the water this month", not just "who is here tonight"
The monthly question is the one that matters. It is what tells a head coach that a swimmer is quietly drifting away before the family cancels.
What exists today
The lane sheet shows who is supposed to be in each lane, which is the list a coach would mark against. And when gate check-in lands, the club will have a record of who came through the door — related, but not the same thing as being in the water for a session.
What to do this season
Mark attendance the way you do now. Keep the lane sheet as the roll.
