The family home already reserves a card for volunteer hours. It renders blank rather than showing "0 of 0 hours" — a card reading zero of zero trains a parent to stop looking at it, and then it is useless the day it matters.
What to do this season
Run your volunteer roster the way you do now. When this lands, the household obligations will attach to families that already exist.
