The waitlist

In progress

When the season is full: keeping the queue, making an offer, and what happens when it expires.

In progress. Part of this works today. The article says which part.

What you can do today

Waitlist (needs manage_club_members) shows who is waiting and lets you:

  • Make an offer to a household
  • Accept or decline an offer on their behalf
  • Rescind an offer you made
  • Withdraw a household from the list

How an offer works

An offer is a dated, limited thing: the household is told a place is available and has until a deadline to take it. Until they accept, they are still on the waitlist — a household with an unaccepted offer is red at the gate with "membership offer not yet accepted", and the remedy points at the family.

A household still waiting is red too, and that remedy points at you: roll the waitlist and make them an offer.

The order

The list holds its order. Working it out of order is possible and is a decision somebody makes deliberately, not something that happens because a screen sorted by name.

What is not built yet

The recurring jobs that would run the waitlist for you are coming soon:

  • Expiring an offer that was never accepted
  • Automatically making the next offer when one lapses
  • Sending offer reminders before a deadline

Until those land, the waitlist is a screen you work rather than a queue that works itself. Put a recurring reminder in a calendar and check it.

Waitlist offer, reminder and expiry emails are also still to come — see Announcements and email. Today, telling the family is a manual step.
